Renaissance Place Mixed-Use Development on North Pleasantburg Drive Commences
Pre-Sale and Leasing Activities
Greenville, SC- While new boutique retail developments and condominiums are appearing
all over Greenville, Renaissance Place, the first mixed-use concept that blends
the two, is beginning marketing activities this week on North Pleasantburg. This
village-style community will bring a main street feel to a portion of the North
Pleasantburg corridor with approximately 50,000 square feet of retail space and
148 upscale condominiums that will be developed in phases.
Located across from Bob Jones University at the current site of the pedestrian
bridge that spans Pleasantburg Drive, Renaissance Place blends the quaint atmosphere
of downtown with teh convenience of being situated in midtown Greenville. The
retail portion fo the development is positioned closest to Pleasantburg Drive
with extensive landscaping and diagonal, storefront parking similar to Main Street.
Unlike most area shopping centers, the desgin of Renaissance Place encourages
customers to park and walk from store to store. The residences are situated further
away from the road and traffic, ensuring a more serene and private atmosphere
that is accentuated and reinforced with a private, secure gate for residents and
their guests...
Prudential C. Dan Joyner Co. has joined Hines (the international real estate
firm developing the project) to execute the sales and marketing for Renaissance
Place. Nelson Garrison of Joyner Commercial will oversee the retail portion while Terri Warner, who
manages the New Homes Division for Prudential C. Dan Joyner, Co. REALTORS, will
supervise the sales of the condominiums.
"With 50,000 square feet of new retail space available, we are targeting a mix
of retailers that may include boutique shops, as well as national brands that
will reinforce the sense of community for the development," said Garrison. "A
cafe and/or coffee shop would be an ideal tenant for homeowners and for people
on their way to work. Smaller specialty shops like those found on Augusta Road
or downtown would be perfect for this model. And we've already been in discussions
with a few national retailers that either don't currently have a presence in Greenville
or are looking for a second location."
The Residences at Renaissance Place will be the only upscale condominiums in
the area, with typical units ranging from 1,100 sq. ft. starting in the $200s
to 2,150 sq. ft. priced in the $400s. The condos will feature gourmet kitchens
with granite countertops, hardwood floors, 10 ft. ceilings and covered parking.
The residential area will consist of approximately three acres of natural area
that will include a meandering nature trail...
Hines is a privately owned real estate firm involved in real estate investment,
development and property management worldwide. The Hines portfolio of projects
completed, underway, acquired and managed for third parties includes more than
830 properties representing over 330 million square feet of office, mixed-use,
industrial, hotel, medical, sports facilities and residential properties, as well
as large, master-foreign countries, and controlled assets valued at approximately
$11.7 billion, Hines is one of the largest real estate organizations in the world.
